Split screen is a useful feature that is available only on selected Sharp Aquos TV models. With this feature, you can split the TV screen and view two different contents on your Sharp TV simultaneously. Notably, some TVs come with the PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode, which lets you watch one video on a small screen and another one on a bigger screen.
If your Sharp TV doesn’t come with the split screen feature, use the Multiviewer tool or screen mirroring option to watch its content. This article guides you in enabling the split screen and PiP function on your Sharp TV.
How to Enable Split Screen on Sharp Aquos TV
Luckily, some AQUOS TV models offer split-screen options. This function proves handy for simultaneously viewing two distinct videos, allowing the display of two images, excluding input from RS-232C or the PC INPUT terminal.
1. Power on your Sharp TV and go to the Home Screen.
2. Press the P&P button on the TV remote, and the Split Screen will appear on your screen.
3. Select the input source of the content display and click the Press button to set the screen to be active.
4. Tap the TV/Video button to select another input source on the active screen.
If you want to close the screen, press the P&P again to exit the Split-screen.
Limitations of Using Split Screen on Sharp TV!
The operating split screen doesn’t work on the criteria provided below.
- If you add the pictures or content from the same Input.
- When the streaming content has different vertical frequency.
- Also, if the input signal is 1080P/50Hz or 1080P/60Hz.
How to Enable Picture-in-Picture on Sharp TV
Nevertheless, as I previously mentioned, a few of the Sharp Aquos TVs are compatible with PiP. Enabling PiP (Picture in Picture) will display a picture over the image.
1. Press the PIP button on the TV remote, indicated by a green button.
2. Use the Red button for the movement and operate the Green button to fix the frame color of the PIP.
4. Select the Station as normal and swap the pictures by pressing the Yellow key.
5. Click the Menu key to set the PiP type and the position (small picture) of the picture.
6. Choose the Small PIP and set your desired PIP position.
How to Use PiP on Sharp TV
Once PiP is activated on Sharp TV, the screen will be split into two: one with a green frame and the other with a white frame. The green frame indicates that it has been selected, letting you make any required changes. To change the channel on a green frame, press the P and Up or Down buttons. The white frame means that the option is unselected, and you can’t change its settings until you select this frame and it turns green.
Can I Enable Split Screen on Sharp Android TV or Sharp Google TV?
Unfortunately, the Sharp Android TV doesn’t have split-screen support. However, you can find a feature on Sharp Google TV that is slightly similar to the Split Screen. This new feature is named the Dual View mode. This mode lets you watch the content on the inset window and use the Sharp Google TV on the full screen at the same time.
To enable it on your Sharp Google TV, tap the Dual View Key while streaming the live TV. Now, the video will be shrunken, and you can use the Sharp TV on the full screen. You can also remove, expand, move, or resize the Dual View window according to your preference.
Split Screen Unavailable on Sharp TV – What’s Next?
Apart from the Sharp Aquos TVs, the other Sharp TVs don’t support the built-in Split Screen option. However, there are a few alternative ways to obtain the feature on your TV.
- You can use the Multiviewer Hardware Tool to get the Split Screen function.
- Perform Screen mirroring of the multiple tabs from your desktop to the TV.
Get Split Screen Using Multiviewer
Using the HDMI cable, you can easily connect the Multiview hardware to your Sharp TV. You can connect multiple HDMI Devices to a single channel and stream its output simultaneously on any screen.
1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the Multiviewer tool and attach the other to the Sharp TV.
Tip! If you are using any streaming device, then insert the HDMI cable into the Multiviewer tool.
3. Turn on the Multiview and the TV simultaneously. Now, switch the input of the Sharp TV into Multiviewer.
4. Now head back to the Home screen and use the Multiviewer remote or TV remote to activate the Split Screen on your TV.
5. Now, access up to 4 screens on your TV and stream your desired content.
Using Screen Mirroring
Alternatively, you can screen mirror to Sharp TV and control the Split Screen directly from your computer. However, this process requires a strong internet connection. Therefore, you should connect your Sharp TV to WiFi, which should be the same as your phone.
- For Windows: Click on the Win + K Shortcut → Select the Sharp device → Start screen mirroring.
- For Mac: Menu bar → Control Center → Screen Mirroring → Choose your Sharp TV.
After connecting the device, split the browser tabs and start watching your desired content.
